History in Brief:

Since the formation of the Soverigenity, the Bordenuex has occupied the position of a County, its initial borders stemming from those of the Imperial Precinct that shared the same name. When the Soverigenity came into being, the Bordeneux found itself formed into a County, with the incumbent Governor Family granted the title of 'Count' in an effort to appease the local landeed gentry and to prevent future issues.

Ever-since, the Region has remained loyal, contributing militarily to ever conflict the overall area has been called into. It has experience little in the way of regional dissent, and overall has ticked over without much eventful passings.

Economy:

Rich in agricultural terms, with vineyards dominated by the aristrocracy, the Bordenuex are famed for the quality of their wines, and the strict manner in which such quality is policied. With a fuedalistic system, consisting of serf-dom as the core method of labour, farming, timber and mines are the primary source of income for the region.

Military:

With a traditional structure to its armed forces, consisting of a core of landed knights supported by commoner levies (raised during times of war), the army is often 'at rest' with only a small number of knights ever 'standing' - often inn the immediate vicinity of the Count and his operatives.

In total, the region is able to raise 14,000.00 men in times of war, with 1,680.00 being considered as professional men, the rest as levies.

Knights of the Realm form the main part of the army, numbering at some 1,600.00 salaried professionals, formed up and paid by the Count directly. The remainder of the army are levied directly from the hamlets and villages, forming Vassal Infantry.

The Navy, which is modelled off the Soverigenities Navy and makes use of the same ships and structure as it, consists of 6 heavy ships and 24 light ships, with 2,000.00 marines formed up as the Bordeneux 'Detachment' of the national marine corp. Traditionally this Corp has been commanded by a member of the Nobility appointed by the Count, however the King as the right to change this appointment to one of his choosing, but has never done so.

Government:

An Administrative and Noble County, power lies firmly in the hands of the ruling families of the Region, with the Region controlled entirely by the House d'Temere and its affiliated families, many of whom occupy the national position of 'Baron'. Broadly speaking, the realm is controlled through this hierarchy - the Government itself taking the form of the Count and his direct court, from which the incumbent Count draws people onto the Council of Bordeneux, and advisory group that controls the various offices of state.

Political Relations:

All of the foriegn relations of the region is carried out by the King, however the Count has been a strong voice for trade links with local powers, and advocates as such in the court of the realm.

Culture:

The Bordeneux Culture is split cleanly between the commoners and the aristrocracy, being almost non-existant in the former category - country fayres and local pubs as the main outlet here. Within the Landed Gentry however, Bordeneux shares much of the Culture of the wider Soverigenity, with many of the minor nobles seeking to emulate the trends set by their superiors, who in turn seek to copy the trends set by the Crown.
